Gurnee: a 24,000 square foot service floor, rebuilt in under a week

The Bob Rohrman dealership in Gurnee gave us a full service floor to take down and rebuild — 24,000 square feet ground to bare concrete and finished with a two-broadcast quartz system, complete in less than a week around the shop’s own schedule.

Quartz broadcast

What Gurnee mostly calls us for

Quartz broadcast is colored aggregate thrown into wet resin until the surface will not take any more, then ground back and sealed. Doing it twice — a double broadcast — builds a floor thick and dense enough to carry point loads and dropped tools without telegraphing every impact, and it holds traction when a bay is wet.

A service floor is an unforgiving place to install one. Lift bases, drains and bay lines all have to be detailed in place, and the finish has to survive tire traffic, oil and whatever comes off a vehicle before it reaches the wash. That is the job quartz is built for, and it is the reason a dealership floor gets it rather than a rolled coating.
